An ideal day at Treviglio (Northern Italy) Cemetery. A voice that we cannot immediately identify leads the audience through a deep thought on death. Funerals, tree-lined promenades, exhumations, visitors and morticians contribute to give life and movement to this place, turning down the popular imagination that conceives the cemetery as a static and quiet place. Two final suggestions: the first scientific in nature, the latter aesthetic and visionary, are meant to give a further consideration on the concepts of “mistery” and “travel”, both metaphors of life and death conceived as an inseparable continuum.
The movie is meant to suggest a philosophic and poetic reflection on the controversial process that, in the contemporary society, transforms death into a taboo.
